what's that waterlike/approachlights

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,I'll be glad if someone can help me get rid of this "waterlike/approachlights" effects once and for all. Its driving me nuts not to notice it when flying. I can only see them in the distant and when I got a bit closer they just disappeared into thin air!! strike me lucky. Much appreciated for any ideas.Aussiedin-WMKDp.s. don't seem to be able to attached jpeg here?

What do you mean by waterlike? Thats a very "off the wall" description and probably won't get you very far in finding a fix. Are you talking about runway lights, approach lights (the rabbit lights) or what? A better description of this effect would be helpful also.

I can't think of a better way of explaininng it, have tried to append an attachment but its didn't go through. I'll be further grateful if you can explain to me how to attach a jpeg as its worth a thousand words.

I fly GA quite often, and I've been tweaking my FS9.cfg to match my experience in real GA flights as closely as I can. These entries approximate ground clarity best for me with the goal of getting clarity to gradually fade in the distance.TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=2.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=3.25000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=3Attached is a shot over Hemet, from approx. 9500 feet and the second shot is a shot I took from a Rans S6 several weeks ago in approximately the same location on a rather clear So Cal day. Anyway, they look close to the same, I think (although I also am using the Soft Horizons add-on I created for FS9):http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160456.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/160455.jpg
