Real Enviroment Pro. and Flight Enviroment

Recommended Posts

Guest PARADISE

I recently added Real Environment Professional to my FS9 and I must say it makes a nice upgrade to the scenery, especialy for freeware. I am considering adding Flight Enviroment also. Would anyone know if running both would cause a conflict with each other, or would it only make a good thing even better?I also have Active Sky installed. Thanks in advance to any replies.John Maane

I run all three togather on all flights but I have no {cloulds/weather) installed from the Real Enviroment Pro. I really do not understand why the "weather" installs are in it. I use Real Enviroment Pro because of the GROUND textures. Does anybody use the "weather" in Real Enviroment Pro when they also have and/or use Real Enviroment and Active Sky. Anyway, with the above three systems,Real Enviroment Pro., Flight Enviroment and Active Sky I'm 100 % happy with my Fs2004. By the way, I still use Active Sky 2004.5. I used the next version of it and did not like it. jerrycwo4

some people might use weather because they like the looks over activesky, or they dont have a program like activesky to do the weather for them

Hi All,Let's be clear here! Real Environment Pro from Tim contains no weather data, only textures created by Tim.Ground Environment Pro from Peter contains no weather data, but uses weather data from NOAA or Active Sky 6.5 to set how Peter's ground textures will look in FS04.Flight Environment from Peter contains no weather, but many environmental textures.ActiveSky v6.5 can be your weather machine and also contains environmental textures in ActiveSky Graphics. This can be set up to work with Ground Environmental Pro as well. Thanks, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

If I have ActiveSky 6.5 and GEPro, wouldn't FE and REP practically do the same thing for me since they both can do sky & ground textures?I've been wondering this actually since I recently re-installed FS9 and don't want a lot of extra 'crap' in my folders.

No conflict at all. I installed FE again today because the AS6 clouds werent cutting it for me. FE really is the way to go for clouds. Looks amazing! REP just helps it out in all it's glory! They go great together.

Correct. REP has amazing water, sky, ground textures too. Download REP and see for your self! You wont regret it. Then when you get FE, you can see what options it provides, and you can choose what you want out of both. REP sky textures rock though!

Hi all,Thanks for all your replies. I have really learned something. I'm new to the forum (although I've been reading it for a long time) and all your replies make me feel that I've joined the right forum. I've had the chance to make a few more flights using REP and it is very impressive in its ground textures. Best part is it has no effect what so ever on frame rates. They actually seemed to have gone up since I installed it. Probably the Defrag I ran right after instalation.I'm ordering FE as soon as I finish this because it sounds like it will make a nice complement to PER. Thanks AgainJohn M

If you want the best, get GEPro, it intergrates with AS6 and makes it as real as it gets.

Does REP replace the AEU7 enhancements to airports?

I'm not sure if REP will override AEU7 textures. I uninstalled it before I added REP. I prefer the look of REP runways andt taxiway over AEU7. Nothing against them, it's just my personal preference.John M
