Engine Fire

Recommended Posts

While flying my B757 the spot plane view showed me that my #2 engine was on fire with trailing black smoke. I had no indication of this on my panel in the cockpit view. Is there a gauge that I can add to the panel that will indicate and engine fire? Thanks for any help you can give.Robert Fisher

Download Lonny Payne's panel for the 757. very realistic and it will give you gauge and sound warnings for such an event, as well as about 12 others....Happy flying....P4 1.8768 ram 80 gig hardriveVisiontek Ti4 4600CH yoke/pedalsElite Multi quadrant19" inch monitor-Soundblaster PCI 512Win XPInstrument rated ASEL -220 hours - It gets harder as you get closer to the top......affording it I mean....AOPALawyerPilots Bar Association"Men without dreams are never free, twas thus this way and thus will ever be."

I have downloaded and installed Lonny Payne's panel. Thank you for the suggestion. I did not see any document explaining the panel on his web site. Can you tell me how I can learn about the panel functions?I have had some inquiries about how I got the fire started. I have no idea how it happened and have not been able to duplicate it.Robert Fisher, Instrument rated ASEL - 1800 hours - ex AOPA - lost my medical after heart attack. Would give anything to be flying again, but it will remain a dream I suspect.

There was a special on NBC last night about a British Airways 747 back in 1982 that encountered volcanic ash inflight. The engines caught on fire when they hit the ash, and just about the entire exterior of the plane was glowing because of the ash. The plane landed safely though.... I doubt FS2002 models that, but it could.....Paul Meyer - Morris, C09status.php?id=810173&indicator=OD1&a=a.jhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...7b45404593a.jpg
