DA Cheyenne Changing altitude

I have had the DA Cheyenne for a few weeks and still can not figgure out ( Yes I read the booklet) how to change altitude with the auto pilot to a differant altitude at a given vertical feet per minute. If you know how please advise how to do it. Thanks, jerry

Hi,If I recall correctly:- Press VS mode on autopilot- Increase/Decrease vertical speed will the pitch control (the round control on the AP)EDIT:Appearantly there's not VS mode, but I think you have to do it with the 'Pitch Attitude/Altitude selector' knob only then. However like stated in the manual most of the time during altitude change the speed profile mode is used.

Jerry, You need to set the desired altitude in the ALT window in the lower right portion of the main panel, press the button to arm this altitude, and then use the pitch control function on the autopilot to pitch the airplane up or down to maintain desired vertical speed. The ALT function on the autopilot will just capture the selected altitude. You'll get standard aural altitude warnings from the autopilot and the airplane will capture and hold the desired altitude.Semper Paratus,Chris
