757 in FS9?

Hello everyone:Is there a PMDG/Level-D quality 757 out there for FS9 (payware or freeware)? I know Captain Sim has their 757 --- but, to my knowledge, it doesn't have a full 2D panel, FMC, etc?Thanks

The closest one would be the PSS. Not up there with LDS or PMDG but close. Very heavy on frames from the VC so make sure you have a strong computer.Carlos

Carlos - do you own the PSS 757? If so - how do you like it? The 2D panel on the PSS 757 is pretty good, but I'll give you one warning.Unlike Level D, PSS has put everything on their panel, including the standby gauges. To make it all fit, I find it's all a bit squashed and the glass displays can be a bit difficult to read.I use a widescreen TV with a PC input as a monitor (due to lack of space), and am limited to 1280*760, and I have to say the panel is completely unusable for me. I think this is mainly down to the fact that I use a TV and not a dedicated PC monitor (I have seen quality decreases over all my FS aircraft).Captain Sim's efforts are currently without FMC or advanced systems modelling. Apparantly also suffers from frame rate issues from what I've read, although I don't own it. From the screenshots, the glass gauges don't look too good either.FeelThere/Wilco also released a 757, although this is more for the jump-in-and-fly crowd, and I don't think it's too detailed on the systems side.Overall, PSS is the best of the bunch, but certainly not up to the standards of Level D and PMDG. Only alternative is to wait for the Level D 757 - but considering how much time was spent on development of the 767, it could be a while yet.

In regards to PSS, simmers shouldn't support a company that simply cannot deliver on what is explicitly listed on their product page. ricardo

I recently purchased the PSS 757 and I'm very pleased with it. I also have the Level-D 767 and PMDG 737 series. The PSS 757 isn't quite as detailed as the others but it is the best available for FS9. PMDG plans on releasing a 757 but I understand it will only be for FSX so if you plan staying with FS9 for a while, PSS is the best choice.Rich

FeelThere 777, of course! Silly me!!!I don't think PMDG are planning a 757. MD11, A320 & 737NG are there plans. Level D are currently developing a 757.

Simple things like VC night lighting should have been addressed along time ago but hasn't (autopilot back lighting). When these guys release a product that's usually all your going to get. Don't expect a patch to fix most of the time. I'm happy PSS took great pains to address the 777's initial shortcomings but it looks like another story altogether for the 757. I will say the PSS 757 is the best you can get right now as CaptainSim's 757 is nothing but a visual marvel at this point (kind of like our new FS version).

I believe Leveld were in talks about either releasing it only for FSX or both FSX and fs9. Anyone get any news lately?

Level D stated that the 757 is only for FSX.

PSS 757 is the best out there purely because there isn't any other competition (or at least serious competition).However, I would recommend avoiding it like the plague. It's heavy on frame rates and largely incomplete with some missing software still not delivered since August last year.

Largely incomplete, he says...because of a missing load/fuel planner? Me thinks that makes it more like a little bit incomplete, and they're working on it, though definitely not at flank speed.The PSS 757 is probably as good as it's gonna get for a 757 in FS9. I find it to be a pretty decent product...certainly not perfect...but I can and do have fun with it, and I consider myself to be a reasonably discriminating simmer. I don't know whether incomplete is the right word, because as you say, it implies that it will be complete at some time in the future.At the moment, the product does not model systems as accurately as some would like, maybe a better way of putting it.However, the fact that we are now in January, and the load editor has still not appeared in at least 4 months is quite embarassing. I would imagine it's quite a simple piece of software to write for 'professionals'.
