Question for the Tristar fans

Recommended Posts

Back in the 1980s I flew on Caledonian Tristars several times from Gatwick to Alicante on our family holidays. These were the first aircraft I can remember flying on and the Tristar has become my favourite airliner. As luck would have it I have been given the opportunity to make a rather long journey on what I believe are the last Tristars left in service. Two weeks from today I'll be flying to the Falklands on an RAF Tristar. I wanted to try this flight in FS9. I've got scenery for all three airports I'll be visiting (Brize Norton, Ascension and Mount Pleasant), and I've got an excellent repaint of the Aerosim Tristar in RAF colours. The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the Aerosim panel. Is there anything better available, payware or freeware?Cheers!

The only payware Tristar I've seen is by Perfect Flight called Fly The Tristar, Lockheed L-1011 500. Unfortunately it looks like it was designed for FS2002 even though they are selling it for FS9 and FSX. The panels are not that great looking, the functionality is limited and there is no VC. I quess I've been spoiled by PMDG and Level-D. It flies nicely though, just like a heavy bird should.Kim K

Thanks Staffan!I'm just trying to get my head round the new RFP VIP Club Litton INS so I can take the 747 Classic on a flight from Sydney to Honolulu later on today. I'll see what I can do with the Aerosim FMS tomorrow or next week.Cheers!
