Strange FSUIPC Problem

Recommended Posts

Guest Denton

Hello everyone, Periodically, my hard drive goes from having tons of free-space, to so little that my system can barely function. This reduction in space can take mere hours. After running several virus scanners (coming up with nothing), I wen through my system manually and found that my FSUIPC.txt file was more than 30GB in size...I believe the file is usually about 2KB.If I delete the file, my system works normally until the next time the system suddenly runs out of free-space and I have to do it all again. Can anybody help me with this problem?-wp

What Version of FSUIPC? I get CTD's (with FSUIPC 3.71 installed) In XP's event log I have this error for each CTD:The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: 7.I deleted FSUIPC 3.71 and install FSUIPC 3.70. Have no CTD's since.Have you tried a different version?LEE

Lots of good advice here, thanks! I'll let you know if the problem still happens afterwards.
