Excellent support from RFP VIP

Recommended Posts

We often hear horror stories on the forums about support from various developers, but I think the good stories should be told too...Some months ago I purchased the VIP update for the RFP 747 Classic. For a very modest price you got an updated panel that is "work in progress" and access to the updates as they are released. Updates and support were made available through the RFP VIP Club Support Forum which is password protected. The forums recently moved and the new passwords were emailed to VIP customrs. I never received any email. I contacted Chris Koegler at RFP VIP Club and explained I didn't receive the new forum password. Several emails later it transpired that Chris wasn't given the details of customers who had paid through PayPal, and that was why he had no record of my purchase. Suffice to say, I now have a password to the RFP VIP Club forums, and Chris will continue to receive my support for the RFP VIP project.Great customer support at the RFP VIP Club - much better than some other developers and publishers we all know and love!

I only found out because I was having problems getting the new INS to align, and I went to check the VIP forum to find it had gone! Ralph Tofflemire has left the RFP VIP project now and has passed everything on to Chris Koegler. The new forum is at:http://41686.rapidforum.com/

It lives, but in all honesty it's probably on life support. The VIP project is very much "work in progress". From what I can gather there is an update in the works which will make it FSX compatible. After that there is nothing definite.I do hope RFP is kept alive and development continues, but from what I gather it's only got a limited audience and even more limited resources.

RFP 747-200 was a very good (excellent) product, from the external model, systems, manual, to the support. It is still the single most important purchase add-on I have ever made for FS2004. Long Live RFP!RH

Nice to see a positive support story.

Whilst we quite often hear about the bad support stories, and the developers who have a habit of leaving their customers high and dry (PSS, where's my 757 fuel planner and load editor???)...I think we should hear about the good support stories too. Hopefully the positive stories will result in more customers for the good developers, and they will continue to make quality addons with good support for us!I forgot to mention - Chris Koegler sorted out my problem on a Sunday too!
