Weather SNAFU... conflict with My FS Tools?

Recommended Posts

Guest brillo

Problem: Start FS9 -> Main menu -> "CHANGE" Selected Weather -> "Select a type of weather:" -> "User-defined weather"-> "Customize weather" -> "Error: fs9.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows now. You will need to restart the program." In the game (after creating flight), -> "World" -> "weather" -> "Select a type of weather:" -> "User-defined weather"-> "Customize weather" -> "Error: Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse 21132D05 in Modul "Weather.DLL. Lesen von Adresse 8.0000000" -> game locks. (((Side Question: The error message is in German? My FSUIPC error messages are also in German. Why is that? ))) Anyone tell me what this message means? Babelfish doesn't translate it. Simultaneously, with error message, taskbar shows new active task, "MY FS Tools". I can close "MY FS Tools", then close the game, in that order only. And that's all I can do. As the error message states, I have to restart the game. Grrrrr.... I found "Weather.DLL" on Disk 2 and replaced the existing one in the module folder. No change. BTW, Weather.DLL said it hadn't been accessed since October 06.... I guess that's possible, but it sure seems that I fiddled with the weather more recently than that. So I'm thinking "MY FS Tools" is creating the problem. There are My FS Tools.dll, .ini, -Starter.ini, and -Towers.ini in the Modules folder. I did not find info about this problem in the MyFsTools 1.5 (htm) help pages. Of course, I want to have "Customize weather" working AND keep "My FS Tools" as well. Does anyone here have an idea (experience) on how to get both these programs working together? I assume, if I can't find any other solution, I can just take those 4 files out of the Modules folder and get rid of "MY FS Tools" in order to get back the weather change options. Hope if removing MY FS Tools is what it takes, that the MY FS Tools tabs and references on the FS9 in-flight window also go away. Which brings up another question, the "AEROSOFT" tab on the main in-flight window. That came with the "FREE" German World Cup Stadiums from Aerosoft last year. Not quite "free" I guess. But I'll ask about that in a separate post. Thanks for any help with this.Rob

Hi Rob,Run the FS9.1 patch again. That is a file that is patched, and you cannot just pull it from the CD. Or drop me an e-mail and I'll attach my file back to you.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
