Hard Horizon Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi there,My problem is i can't get rid of that hard horizon, the line that splits the ground and the sky. I've attached a screenshot below. I have seen many a screen shot where the ground and the horizon blend really nicely with one another but i can't seem to get that no matter what i try. I've tried reducing the visibility to 30 in AS but at 30000ft it looks like i'm flying through thick fog and its awful!I'm using FS9, AS6.5, and GEII. My visibilty settings in FS are Sight Distance 60m and cloud draw distance 60m. In AS visibilty is set at 59 as recommended in the sticky. My graphics card is an ATI 9800XT 256mb. I have also editted the fs9.cfg to the terrain values as recommended everywhere. In AS i have wx-infuenced clouds. If anyone could tell me how to eliminate this I'd buy them a pint http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/165859.jpg

Go to the file library and get softhr.zip. An immediate fix for your problem :).However, ASv6.5 ASG will change the bmps each time it starts. If you don't want that search the Active Sky support forum for a mod to make ASG use a soft horizon theme (WX influenced). Sorry, don't have a link.Jim Harnes

What i do is set the horizon distance to 130 140 or even Max that way you generally get a much better horizon not that horrible straight line but of course there may be a performance hit on some setups.Cheers Andy
