Overland Aircraft Textures

Recommended Posts

Why are my downloaded textures not working . I have downloaded and extracted a few of the various textures for the Airbus and Boeing Aircraft appearing lately for the Overland Aircraft .Installed these textures in the relevant aircraft folders in FS9 .Copied the text from the readme files inserting it in the config files useing the next availabe sequence numbers. But the aircraft don't show up. What mistake am I doing any help appreciated .

Sometimes the textures you download only provide *part* of the textures. You then need to provide the rest of the textures from texture folders (that you already have) that have the complete set of textures. This is because repainters dont need to waste time creating those textures that are universal - for example the colours of the wings, engine pods, wheels etc. Simmers will already have these available.Open an old texure folder that you know works. Now open a texture folder you just donwloaded.View these folders side by side...any difference? If theres less in the new one then:1. Select all files in the old texture CTRLA+ A then CTRL+C to copy2. Paste them (CTRL+V) into the new folder.3. When you get alerts saying a file already exists and you want to replace it say NO to each one.See if the plane works. If it does not check the aircraft.cfg entries very carefully. Even a tiny mistake will cause this problem. Check the sequencing and also pay *special* attention to these entries:( ) are SQUARE brackets-----------(fltsim.04)sim=model=texture=-----------Make sure they match the old entries that work. From experience this is usually cause by small problems that escape the eye on first look. Here are example of common sequencing errors:(fltsm.04)(fltsim.04(fltsim04)Easy to spot those kinds of errors on here but not when you have 25 or 45 planes in the .cfg.So check again and I hope you solve it!
