Question about Trim

Recommended Posts

I've been flight-simming for a few years and have hadmy share of probs, crashes, etc. However lately I've beenhaving some puzzling trim problems. No matter which aircraft I use (PMDG,Level-D,PSS or GA,on take off the aircrafts just won't lift off the groundunless I press the numeral 1 key repeatedly. When flying any of the payware aircraft their weights and CG's are all well within the allowed limits. Not sure why this is happening.Possible that I can't see the wood for the trees and thatthere is a simple fix for this. I use a CH Yoke which I calibrate usually everytime before the actual take off. The elevator wheelis usually at mid point or slightly in the up position.Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

My experience with the leveld 767 and DF 727 is that if you set the takeoff trim to the computed amount, i works fairly well. Some of the other Ac I fly need to be adjusted, or don't provide any guidance and I go by experience. The main thing I find often is setting trim sufficient for smooth rotation results in excessive pitch up without agressive forward pressure on the yoke/stick.I think this might be partly a power problem. Too much power I think might cause pitch to rise. scott s..

Just a thought, have you checked the "Sensitivities" settings (sliders ) in FS9? Make sure your elevator "sensitivity" and "null zone" sliders are showing a value.John M
