Opinions on FSD products ....

Recommended Posts

I've always had a liking for the HS125/Hawker series. When I started my career many years ago I worked on the engine control system for the AiResearch (now Honeywell) TFE731. We had an HS125 for our daily shuttle between Phoenix and LA that I rode numerous times. When I worked at Harley-Davidson we bought a Hawker and we used it for shuttles to the Talladega test facility.I see FSD has a model "on the drawing board". What are their models like? The screenshots look pretty nice, but I would value your opinions on the panels, VC, realism and support.

Some like them, some don't... suggest reading/searching through the forum here for "FSD" topics prior to purchase.. specially regarding their re-install procedure/issues

Their planes are great, great detail, great systems replication. But the developers are kind of stubborn know it all's, who are not fond of any adverse comments and they have their own way of doing things. Kinda you have to love it or hate it, or learn to deal with it. I never have any problems reinstalling software from them. And I fly their planes (Cessna, Piper's) almost everyday.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"

I have the 1st rendition of the Cheyenne 400 with the update. bought about 3 years ago. Paid $15.00 for it. Great product. Look what they want for it now. If I loose it buying another computor, I have to re-buy the airplane at the new price. I am going to get the Hawker when it comes out, but will get it only on the CD. That will relinquish me from any hassles in the future. They are way to astringent on their buying procedures. If you have to reload windows 3X on account of virus, you'll have to jump through hoops to get the airplane back.Just my experiences with them..

I bought the Cheyenne for 2002 and thought it was great for the time. It is completely outclassed now, but when it was first released it was about the best around.I've since bought the Commander and 337. Basically the latter two I would grade as 6 out of 10. Very nice in some respects, let down by shoddy attention to detail. My biggest pet hate is the protected panel. The Commander especially needs an FLN/FLT update but this is too time consuming and so I can't be bothered.

I've only ever had one FSD product - The Porter. A truely stunning reproduction of truely stunning aircraft.I would love to be able to fly it again, but FSD called me thief and refused to activate my PAID FOR aircraft.A REAL shame 'cos they make great addons.
