I am getting worried about installing Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer for the fear of it wiping out all my freeware and payware files. My add-ons are listed below. If someone could tell me what might happen, i would appreciate it.Daniel JohnsonMy Addons: PMDG 747, 737, Beech 1900C and D, Level D 767, FS Passengers, Dreamfleet A36, Wilco CRJ.

I have every one of those addons and I am running Vista Ultimate (have been for more than a year) and they ALL work fine.I have yet to encounter an FS add-on that doesn't work with Vista. There is one caviat however. DISABLE UAC!!!UAC causes various Flight1 products and Activecamera from finding the registration information. Enjoy.

UAC= User Account Control. It is the idiotic stupidity that Microsoft put in for security that instrusively pops up every time you want to change a setting. It also blocks programs that it feels are not in your best interest. It is Microsoft's attempt and making you more secure but instead of it monitoring your computer for specific virus patterns and blocking just those, it blocks everything without your approval.Unfortunately, many of the license files in FS intrusively interact with the program and UAC doesn't like this and will block it silently. For instance turn on UAC and Activecamara says it is not registered. Also Flight1 ATR says it cannot find the license file. Turn it off and viola no problem.Get Trendmicro PCCillin or Kaspersky IS6 and you don't have to worry about UAC since they will protect you from Viruses and Internet nasties AND they work very well with MSFS even if you keep them running, there is no frame rate hit. If you google User Account Control in Vista you will find that it is the most hated and arguably, useless feature in Vista. At one point it would pop up if you just wanted to use the recycle bin! Microsoft subsequently "dumbed" it down but it is still very intrusive.
