Opinions on Feelthere's Airbus models

Hi all,just want to know if the external models looks like ytheir real world counterparts and if they fly realistically.? Just my opinion, but the 737PIC seems to fly how you would think a 737 should (I'm not type rated in the 37 so I don't really know.), but the external model of the 737 looks a little strange around the nose area I think. I have no doubt that this will be a high quality product when they release their patch and I'd like to purchase it at that time if this is true, and don't worry I will be buying the AirlinerXP A320 when it is released hopefully before 2008.Thanks,Jeff

hey bud, I just got the airbus, and I think it looks pretty darn shuweet. I'm no schematics genius and don't compare photo's to the model, but I think it looks better than any other airbus series out there such as the overland and ifdg models (not even gonna mention the PSS models). I've had them all and feelthere's tops it. I was weary at first with all the reports of bugs, but after checking feelthere's forum and generating my own opinion I decided to go ahead and get it. One reason is that Eric Marciano is the developer of the panel. He has one of the best freeware A320 panels out IMHO. I took her for a couple test circuits around KPSP, and much to my suprise, I had ZERO problems. Fly's great, systems worked fine for me, and I have to say I'm pleased with my purchase, especially expecting the service pack which is to be released in a couple of days. Let it be known, there a couple bugs in the visual model, but it doesn't bother me, especially because they are resolved in the Service Pack. Go on over to the FeelThere site and go into the support forum to get a list of the bugs that have been resolved. There are quite a few on there, some I wouldn't even notice in my day to day flights. The recognition of these bugs and the quickness to fix them I think is commendable. Other's will disagree, saying the product was rushed. Yeah, they're right, it probably was. But lord knows how they're contract with Wilco works, things are crazy in the buisness world. Sometimes I think we, the consumer, are victims of supply and demand. The demand for add-ons is soooooo immense it must be hard for developers to completely comply. Especially with the flaming that comes with most add-on releases (if not all). When I'm not simming I either work or write music. I can't imagine how I would feel if I wrote a song, and after intial release of the song that i poured myself into, 40 guys tell me how I could've, and should've made it better. The poise of all of these companies to put up with our insane needs to have a REAL Airliner on our measly $3000 dollar computers is commendable. Let me stop my praising of every add-on company, a Captain Sim Representative may be reading this. But I digress...yeah, the model looks SCHWEET :-)

They live in their own little world in their own forums, and although they may have lurked here at one time, they quickly left when they discovered they don't have moderator privilages here and could just delete any post they deemed offensive (which could be any post asking them about progress on their "systems" or heaven forbid, a release date that is a year over due). :-lol BTW, that is not bashing, that is a documented fact. ;)

I would hold off until they release the service pack. Initial release was a disaster, with a total of 83 (!!) confirmed issues/bugs.

Maybe so. The point is most companies release products too early, even Level-D. It ticked me off that it didn't come with a SID/STAR package, but I didn't trash the product, and I'm glad I didn't.

One legitimate criticism that needs to be highlighted is that this add-on does not play well with FSUIPC. For those using serial PFC flight controls (which make their inputs using the PFC driver via FSUIPC) you will find that you cannot use your PFC quadrant to properly control the throttles. And you will find FeelThere telling you that it's up to PFC to make their controls work with FT's panel. I wrote a driver interface that uses a freeware virtual joystick emulator to take the PFC inputs and route them back to DirectX...so it's possible. Unfortunately FT doesn't see a need to include the many users of these high-end flight controls in their programming.So...for those of you with PFC controls, I recommend you stay away from the FT A320.For those who use FSUIPC for calibration and other features, you will probably have to give up some of those features in order to (hopefully) make the panel work.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile
