Complex, FPS friendly Regional twin turbo-prop or Jet with good VC??

Recommended Posts

I have the PSS Dash8 - but it is very old. Basically it is an FS2002 model. I understand that the Flight1 ATR is very good - but I suspect that it would be too tough FPS wise on my older AMD2400 machine. When I say "complex" , I mean complex enough to be interesting - not necesarily something for the fanatics! :-) Any suggestions please? Payware or freeware

Try Rick Piper's HS 748. It's freeware, but a very good flight model, lots of systems (you must pay attention to fuel heaters and engine anti-ice), an excellent VC, and lots of repaints available. It uses analog gauges and a distinctly British feel to the cockpit. Best of all, it's very frame rate friendly.David Maltby also makes some excellent British jetliners. His BAC 111 is my favorite. If you can do without a VC, Project Fokker's F-28, F-70, and F-100 all do well on frame rates.Dale

Payware or freewareI ran the Flight 1 ATR on an Athlon XP 2200. Adjusted the quality slightly, and had no problems framerate wise. At any rate, it's really the best out there, and since Flight 1 offers a 30 day money back guarantee, you really have little to lose. ricardo

Payware or freewaremajesti software's dash 8 (ex fanda, or basically the payware fanda) if your budget allows.complex? checkfps friendly? checkoverly complex? no because you don't need to do much to fly. preflight whining from the plane is 1/3 that of leveld and wilco's ERjs... flight dynanics (realism + feel) though are in a club of their own. worth it just for that. fun? check x10
