Filtering question

Recommended Posts

Do I achieve anything by setting Filtering to Trilinear in the UI and notching up the Degree of Anisotropy in the driver (nVidia in my case) to Level 8. Are this settings alternative, competing or even conflicting with each other? Maybe I should delegate the filtering to the game engine by setting the driver on Application Controlled? I can't see the immediate difference turning them on and off and application controlled, but who knows what I may see in the clouds or photorealistic areas etc.? What are your experiences and considerations on this particular GFX setting? Thanks.
