I keep losing keyboard assignments

Every now and then I go to change view, or brake, or whatever, and suddenly nothing is responding. Turns out that FS9 keyboard assignments have stopped working (and hence, my Saitek X5 and Nostromo N52, which of course depend on them).If I go into assignments, there they all are as normal, but they don't function. It takes a PC reboot to get them working again.Anyone had this problem (and resolved it)? Just by chance, I went into slew mode today when this happened and I got all the assignments back - I'll try doing the same next time it happens (once a month), but it may well just have been a fluke.Martin

Please post back if it does - I (luckily) only get the problem once in a hundred or more flights, so I've no idea if it was just a lucky coincidence yesterday that slewing corrected things.Meanwhile, maybe some guru will post some brighter ideas here ???M. :-)

It seems to me that flight sim, especially FS9 and FSX, like fresh boots. Because I'm the only person using my sim PC and because I don't use it for any real work, I reboot before each sim session; it has made simming easier.Another PC in my computer room ("affectionately" dubbed THE PIT by my wife) gets rebooted once or twice a week. If I don't reboot it every now and then AOL and/or the wireless LAN antenna (USB) stop working.Just a thought . . .R-

Yes, mine - and many other people's I gather - too. I reboot regularly. I have a PC I use exclusively for FS9 and if I don't reboot, if not exactly before every new flight, then getting on that way, I begin to lose frame rates pretty quickly. On long flights I even save the flight sometimes and reboot, and always gain several fps. Annoying, but it's been that way with every PC on which I've ever run FS9. I have a good CPU, 2GBs of RAM and a good GPU, so I guess it's just the happy combo of Windows & FS that do this.Can't recall now if FS2002 was the same - and I don't have (or particularly want at this stage) FSX.M.
