FS9 unflyable after 10 minutes (blocky clouds, loss tex...

Hello everyone,Its been a while since I flew on FS9, today I did a short flight over the pacific. Everything was well until 10 minutes into the flight, I loss the cloud texture, then the aircraft texture, and finally the rest of the world. The frame rate textbox wouldn't show up, all I see is just a blank world like this:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169909.jpgWhat exactly is going on? Should I reinstall the cloud/sky textures? Thank you..:-hmmmDan

Hi,Heat, heat, heat! Take the cover off your case and see if this helps! If so, you need more cooling for your case. There are many ways of achieving this.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi,I had that ?same problem about a year ago and it was a conflict with a texture set I'd loaded. Heat may be involved as well, but part is definitely textures. Here are some screens to show:This was an FS9 texture in FSXhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169945.jpgthese are similarhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169946.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169947.jpgI have forgotten what the problem was apart from that .Sometimes, even when you have got rid of the problem it will persist until you restart the computer. Just a thought.Andy.

Some .exe. add-ons overwrite your texture files without asking.System Restore will get you back to normal.

Sorry to dust off this older topic but I'm having the same problem now.All my flight is fine until I am low in my descent (say about 3 to 5 thousand feet or lower). Then, like described above, clouds change into semi-transparent blocks, ground and scenery textures turn pinkish/purple and blurr completely plus my aircraft textures disappear. Before I posted I had checked whatever I could. I also:- did complete defrag a few times- uninstalled my latest ATI (Radeon) drivers and tried earlier versionsThe FPS are on the same level as usually and my hardware cooling works fine as it worked before (my cover is off all the time).Refreshing scenery doesn't help in this case, nor going to the windowed mode and back.Well, I found a solution which helps once applied but the problem returns with every flight. What seems to help is going to the display menu and changing into any other resolution. Then everything looks fine again no matter if I stick to the changed or return to the original resolution. I use 1280x960 with 32b colours on a 19" CRT monitor.Has anyone encountered the problem in the meantime and know or has any idea how to solve it?Of course doing a complete reinstall could be the way but, of course, I wouldn't like it unless no other option is left. Thanks in advance.Best regards,RafalAMD Athlon 64 3000+Radeon 9800 Pro2GB RAMWindows XP Home SP2FS9.1
