Air France Concorde Flight Plans to St Maarten (SXM/TNC...

Recommended Posts

Hiya! This is my first post on the avsim forum, and I recently purchased the quiet brilliant St Maarten scenery by Fly Tampa, and wanted to do a supersonic transatlantic trip in an Air France Concorde from Paris. However I don't have much information regarding a realistic flight plan specifically for the Concorde on this route, as I understand a real Concorde has actually flown there. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Andrew

I can see there are alot of views to this post but no responses.I've tried to find info on a TNCM departure for a Concorde but can't seem to find any.Do you have any more info?Would hate to be sitting on the beach when it departs with afterburners alight.Unless it was a charter to perhaps Grantley Adams where it flew out of regularly.

I'm sure it is. I remember the Concorde bringing the british team to the Ryder Cup when it was in Rochester, NY. Had no problem landing or taking off on our 8001x150ft main runway.Sorry bud, have no info on concorde flights.

I would have thought the route from London would have been LHR-SXM-BGI-LHR. Standard route down to the Caribbean via Track SP direct to 18N direct SXM.

When I lived on Antigua in the early '80s the Air France Concorde flew to Guadeloupe regularly.Once they had to divert and land on Antigua. She was amazing !!!If I remember right, she stopped pretty fast on landing - she was the first bird with anti-skid brakes. The issue at TNCM would be the V1 stopping distance and speed. Heck, with a fuel load for trans-atlantic and passengers, she'd probably be at V1 within a few feet of starting the takeoff roll.

Minimum V1 was 130Kts. You wouldn't get a full weight Concorde out of SXM; it would have returned via BGI.

Chris, I wonder if Pandy is still looking for an answer going on 7 years later? I guess better late than never, although I cant help but wonder what made you dig up an almost 7 year old post to answer.
