FSGenesis - Ultimate Terrain - Ground Environment

Recommended Posts

I have been flight simming for about 12 years now(since FS95, now using FS9) and have been an avsim forum reader for quite a while too. While I haven't done much in the way of posts myself over that time, I have always looked to these forums for help, recommendations, tips, etc. Well, I felt that I had to post my thoughts right now...I have just bought and installed FSGenesis, UT and GE and I have to say that it has just completely re-ignited my passion for this hobby. Out of any add-ons I have ever purchased, these three products together have been the best. The FS world has been completely changed for me. Looking out the "window" now is just plain gorgeous! I can't imagine how I was living without these products. I don't know how else to describe it. It is now "As real as it gets" or whatever the MS slogan is.Anyway, I just thought I'd share that for whatever it's worth. Anyone considering purchasing these products(like I was 2 weeks ago), don't hesitate!!! Buy them ASAP!!! They will change your FS World!!!Thanks to the developers of these products!! :)

Regards,

You cannot beat these products (along with ASv6). I just did a clean install on a new computer, and it was interesting watching the transformation as I installed everything step by step.Enjoy.

I feel the same way! I have all three products as well, and my FS9 install is a million times better than my FSX install as of now. My FSX copy is collecting dust. FS9, with these products and ASV6, just looks a lot better - the textures all blend together nicely. Here are example shots:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170664.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170665.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170666.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170667.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170668.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170669.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170670.jpg

Hi, I agree with you Klamal, with these truly amazing products, you can reach a state of realism that does take your flight sim world to "as real as it gets". Don't take our word for it, see for your self how real these programs are....Hope these screen shots prove it.....

It's been so long since I installed any scenery products that I have forgotten just what I have installed. Is there a easy way to tell what scenery packages I have installed? I KNOW I have GE Pro, and I think I have UT. What is the specific FSGenesis product you are refering to and what do I get it? jerrycwo4

You've obviously been missing out! :-)In addition to ActiveSky (mentioned by bkleske above)- you might check out Flight Scenery's Portland and Rhode Island, George Grimshaw's Boston v2 (free), Fly Tampa's KSEA, San Diego and San Francisco and Cloud9's LAX. These are tho top of the ladder and will elevate your sim experience to new heights!Oh - yes (this one is Money) - if you don't have it - get the TrackIR4 system so you can look where you naturally need to! It's echo'd in other posts, I know, but it's worth repeating; it will make it so much more real.:-beerchug

Thanks for the feedback but it didn't answer my main questions:1. From within Fs2004 how can you tell what "extra scenery", ie landclass, mesh and add-on sceneries are installed?2.What is the specific FSGenesis product you are refering to and what do I get it? jerrycwo4

Hi Jerry: Hope I can help a bit:1).a. Add-on sceneries (FlyTampa KSEA, for eg) are usually in the {FS9 root}/Addon Scenery folder, and will have their own folder which is browsed for via the "Scenery -> Settings" dialogue screen. They can be anywhere on the pc.b. LandClass can have a unique folder within the Addon Scenery folder, and will usually be within a folder such as "Ontario LC"; FS Genesis landclass can be used along with UT City landclass, and both will have their own folder in the {FS9 root}/Scenery folder. This is often chosen by the developer in the install program, but you will always have the option to put the files where you prefer them to be afterwards.c. I'm at work at the moment, but I don't think you can tell from just browsing for a particular folder for mesh: someone else can help you here?2). North America FS2004 Terrain DVD Set: Code DVD-NA, and US National Landclass Project: Code LCUS http://www.fsgenesis.com/Merchant2/merchan...egory_Code=DVD9and :http://www.fsgenesis.com/Merchant2/merchan...egory_Code=LC04
