Anyone using the PMDG 737 with the POSKY models?

I'd like to replace my PMDG 737NG models with the ones from POSKY. I've searched the forums here, and the information is a little fragmented, and some of it is just plain wrong! I'd like to just replace the visual model, whilst preserving the PMDG flight dynamics, so I just need the contact points and lights.I'd be really grateful if anyone who has merged these successfully could take five minutes to copy and paste their contact points and light sections :)Thanks for any help!

Why don't you copy the (contact points) and (lights) sections (with square braces, which this forum hates to show) from your POSKY's aircraft.cfg?Hope this helpsBest regards from ColombiaLuis Miguel

There are some serious problems while trying to combine the Posky model with PMDG panel. Afterwards, the plane and AP behaviour is weird and makes it impossible to use.I wasn't successful in merging them even though I've made a lot of merges before.Maybe someone did it so you can share the tips and tricks here?Best regards,Rafal

There shouldn't be a problem if you are just trying to replace the PMDG visual model with the POSKY one. The visual model is just that - a 3D model of the aircraft used by the sim. If you use the original PMDG flight dynamics and leave the original PMDG aircraft.cfg intact (except for the lights and contact points) then the aircraft should function exactly the same as it did originally.The problem is PMDG use a difference reference point in the aircraft.cfg to POSKY. This means just copying the contact points and lights across won't work, as the coordinates are using a difference reference point. I've tried doing a little arithmetic to try and come up with a new set of coordinates that are corrected for the difference in reference points, but I still get the aircraft flipping over on the runway when I load the sim!Is there a program that allows the user to adjust contact points etc visually?

Some people love to ridicule...anywho, here is my entire aircraft.cfg for you. I use the SWA -700 ALL the time with my PMDG panel. Definitely my favorite combo! Make sure you are using the PMDG airfile as well! Thanks! Do you have anything for the -800?You're right about someone always wanting to ridicule! I've done quite a few merges in the past, and any discussion on forums almost always results in someone saying "What do you want to do that for?!?!?!?" or, some FS legal "expert" chimes in with warnings of legal action if any copyright material is distributed. As far as I'm concerned it's MY sim, and if I want to merge the PMDG 747 with the default C172 visual model then so be it, I'm not hurting anyone! All I want to know is *how* to do a merge, I'm not asking for any copyright files...As to *why* I want to merge the PMDG 737 with the POSKY model, well I like the POSKY model, and there are some stunning repaints available for it. Pretty much the same reason why I have merged the Wilco 737 with the 50N models, the new Wilco A320 with the IFDG models, the RFP 747 Classic panel with the POSKY models, the PSS 777 with the Meljet models, the PSS 757 with the POSKY models....Cheers!

I didn't only try to merge the Posky model with the PMDG panel but also the Overland model which I personaly prefer. Anyone noticed the different flap sections on those models? At least on my system I didn't find a way to get correct flap and slat movement with the PMDG flap sections on both models. If I use the sections that come with the models landing pitch and speed isn't correct.Any solutions?Toby
