Larry, come on what a salesman. You trumpet the 3-D cockpit potential of FSX and yet none of the screenshots I've seen from you showing your framerates in FSX show a view through the windscreen from that 3-D cockpit. Show me FPS from the VC of your Sai-Marchetti on approach to any airport with an ILS in FSX.http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

His third shot shows 14.4 FPS with autogen off. I think he turned clouds on which nailed the FPS.Best to stay out of the "pit" with those frames, or maybe look at a hardware upgrade. However, they are nice shots.Lee

LeeWang, I couldn't agree more. I am only upset because I cannot use FSX the way I was able to use EVERY OTHER VERSION OF FS. I want to , I have tried, tweaks, new video card, bla, bla, bla....like many others. Sure we had to tweak in the past, but IT WAS FUN BECAUSE IT WAS FLYABLE, and with a crappy computer to boot, and with the jets many of us loved to fly into the places we loved to fly to. Not this corn-cob backwoods VFR tooling around in the middle of nowhere to find my darn house - Yippee! I'm glad that's fun for some, but it leaves many people very, very disappointed. Sorry about the rant...maybe someday it'll be better. http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

It's a passion for some folks, Larry. And with passion comes emotion. Not so difficult to understand. The toys you work on in your shop are no different are they? Just more expensive. http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

Head on pics are not my favorite, as I'm not all that interested in panels. And besides, a good pilot needs to scan for traffic, and keep his/her head out of the cockpit! Wouldn't want bad flight sim habits creeping into the real thing, would we? :-hah FPS in these shots are 24.5. 21.3, and 24.8http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172389.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172390.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172391.jpg

Nice shots Larry. I shaw those several months ago (before SP1).>>besides, a good pilot needs to scan for traffic,Why bother scan, you have AI and autogen turned off, you'll never hit anything in that flat world, free of cloud and storms. For me, I enjoy takeoff/and most of all landings (ILS). Give us a landing shot Larry (unedited), with some AI, clouds, and one or two trees at a international airport. Larry, I'm glad FSX is working great for you, and I hope no hard feelings. You've been around for a very long time, and I respect many of your comments and suggestions on these forums. I enjoy your posts of late, they make me :) . After all, a hobby should do that.As much as I love flight sim, sharing, and joking around in these forums are a fun part of flight sim as well. I wonder if that guy ever got out of the sand trap? :-lolLee

Looks like in the first shot that you do not have your beacon nor strobe lights on( unless the switch in the down position is 'on'). Must be the lack of flying with AI:-hah Just kidding Larry, I also always enjoy your commentary and, like Lee said, this is a HOBBY .....hobbies are meant to be fun, take them too seriously than it becomes more like work...IMHOJohn MJohn M

>Why bother scan, you have AI and autogen turned off, you'll>never hit anything in that flat world, free of cloud and>storms. Nothing too flat where I fly. It's mostly all mountainous. Big mountains! And an excuse for a storm pic or two...>For me, I enjoy takeoff/and most of all landings (ILS). Nice shots again Larry. You've proved my point and others as well.Your pictures don't include any autogen, no AI, and you show you're airplane on a runway with one taxi way sign. To top it off, you turned off your frames/sec counter.. Not as requested but, you've answered my question..As the Myth busters would say, BUSTED, this debate is over. I'm moving on... Can we get a patch for FS2002!Lee

>I'm moving on... Can we get a patch for FS2002!Good idea! FS2002 had better flight characteristics in regard to simulated airflow over the tail surfaces. I'm all for it!L.Adamson
