MAX_UNLIMITED_VIS= CHANGING?

Recommended Posts

Guys, what does change my intended setting of:MAX_UNLIMITED_VIS=59000to the default one:MAX_UNLIMITED_VIS=96560all the time?Any idea?Can this setting be affected by a saved situation? I guess not.Also, in the game I have FSUIPC visibility set to:Apply vis limits (1/100ths mile)Clear Cloudy o/cast rainy6000 4000 2000 800and Set graduated visibility:0250006000Can this FSUIPC setup affect my manual edit of FS9.cfg, bringing it back to the default value first and then applying its own settings outside of FS9.cfg?If so, which way would you recommend - manual edit of FS9.cfg or the above FSUIPC settings? I have quite a strong Core2 Extreme machine for FS9 and am messing with the visibility mainly due to the max distance of the clouds drawing. Well, also with TrakIR, sometimes textures don't keep up with my head, so still better to somewhat choke the max. visibility distance I think.Thanks for your comments.Dirk.

When you do this change to the FS9.cfg you should not open the graphics options menu in FS9 again. If you do, the default value will be reset. Hope that helps.

Hi Dirk,Not sure about the FSUIPC settings but I guess they override the fs9.cfg setting if the cfg visibility setting is higher than settings you chose in FSUIPC. Personally I use the max-visibility setting in the fs9.cfg and set it just a bit lower than the cloud drawing distance. This way I don't get cloud "pop-ups". For visibility variations and things like that, I just use ActiveSky6.5 .Regards,Daniel

I think going to the gfx-options screen is already enough to reset the value.
