Water around Honolulu acts as if it were dry land

Recommended Posts

I've encountered an interesting problem now that I'm involved with aircraft that land and take off from the water.I have FSGenesis Hawaii installed. I've discovered that in attempting to start a flight from the water around Honolulu, the aircraft behaves as if the water is a dry runway, i.e. it sits on the gear instead of floating.I'd very much like to solve this issue, so any help is appreciated. Is this with a specific aircraft? I think there are settings in the aircraft.cfg file that can modify how the plane sits wrt the terrain around it...Geoff

No this is not the same issue. I remember encountering that one with the Aerosoft Beaver when I first installed it.This is not aircraft specific, and only occurs in this area. These same aircraft behave as expected when flown elsewhere in FS9.Michael Verlin

Hi Michael, interesting! So the issue is present only with the FSGenesis mesh installed? Also, are you starting just anywhere in the water or at a specific location? AI floatplane ready AFCAD files use invisible concrete runways, which would make your amphibian load with its gear down.Cheers, Holger

I found the problem: LAGO's PHNL Honolulu Airport Scenery. I removed it and replaced it with Bill Melichar's PHNL. This immediately corrected the anomaly.Michael VerlinHistoric Jetliners Group
