Recommended Posts

Anyone have it? how do you like it?I'm getting checked out in one tommorow for some real flying, so I will be flying this plane alot in real life.Anyone who flies this plane has anythign to say? I have their bonanza and baron, and I really like them... is this just like them? (I believe the archer III is a newer version)

I like it but it my least favorite of the newer planes (I have the Baron 58 and the A36).As with anything DF does it's the best in class.

I know it is a much simpler plane to fly than the other two (B58+A36). But it just seems to lack the luster the other two have. I'm also a Cessna fan ;)All that being said, it is a quality product. I guess I'm just not a Piper fan so I don't fly it often. If I'm going low and slow I usually take out the 182Q.

Since you're going to fly the real Archer, then you should certainly like this one, as it's very faithful to performance figures, and imparts the feel of the real thing. Besides, unlike the previous reply, I always preferred low wing Pipers over those high wing Cessna's. :-hah L.Adamson

i also have it. I haven't flown it that much lately, but it does handle very similar to the real thing. you should definitely get it if you are flying it in RL. At least get it to practice your procedures and checklists. Its smooth instruments are also good for IFR practice. On my latop, i've disable the GPS, to keep the FPS high in the VC.-feng

I like it. It handles very well and is easy to land, but I guess that depends on your speed. I always go easy on landing - 80 KIAS. TD at maybe 65?It's a great plane and I have no performance problems like some say they have with Reality XP GPS add-ons. The 430 is great and makes up for the slow speed in the Archer.

It's great, however I like the Australian Simulation Piper Warrior as well. Esppecially now it's in it's second version installment.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"

Well I got checked out, great plane! VERY stiff controls, it feels like a sports car... also it is SOOO easy to taxi on the ground... there was a CWS button on the yoke, CFI didn't know what it was... I dont either... I know it stands for Control Wheel Steering or something

control wheel steering---Say you're on auto-pilot flying a set heading. Push the button, which disengages the A/P, then turn to a new heading and release. The auto-pilot will now fly the new heading.L.Adamson

actually its more for holding a bank/pitch I just found out...when you let go, it will go back to the old heading on the heading bug
