Make aircraft invisible in FS Aircraftlist?

Recommended Posts

Hi,Is there a way (or application) to make aircraft invisible in the aircraft selection list?Recently I installed dozens of AI and Online aircraft, and now I have to wait 30+ sec before the list is populated.

Air Editor 1.52 also works very well for this.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=rootIt allows you to modify the .air file of the FS aircrafts.Modify the line that looks like "aircraft type=0" into "aircraft type=2" to let FS know this is an AI aircraft. It will no longer show up in the list of aircrafts in FS.If I remember correctlytype 0 = normal aircrafttype 1 = Helitype 2 = AII use this all the time to check my AI aircraft textures are OK when I replace or add some new models.Cheers,Sylvain

Download my repaints at AVSIM.

On FlightSim.com there's also FS Aircraft Typer (fsat10.zip), that's what I use. Works fine.

Or you can do them one at a time with .Just open the .air file with AirEd and change "Aircraft Type=0" to "Aircraft Type=2". [link:library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=64944&Name=&FileName=&Author=&CatID=root]BBQ Hide does the same thing, but can process batches of .air files all at once using wildcards. Example: "Flight Simulator 9AircraftAIA*" would process all .air files in folders named "AIA Boeing 747-400", "AIA Boeing 757-200", "AIA emb-120", "AIA_737_800", etc.Just downloaded BBQ Hide, never tried it before. Seemed to work OK using the wildcard masks, but I couldn't make it do an individual aircraft for some reason. It apparently couldn't find the .air file. Probably just need to RTFM I suppose.Jim

Flusifix. Great program with a lot of functions to manage and tweak FS9 and/or FSX. Among which the exclusion of aircraft from the aircraft selection list. No fooling around with air files, just select the aircraft(s) you wish to exclude and voila. (also undo) Easy simple, clean!http://www.wolfgang-picheta.de/Click the English flag below right for English version and explanations.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back.
