Recommended Posts

Does anyone have an idea of what the RR TAY engined aircraft sound like. There are no sound files I am aware of, but was looking for a suggestion of something that is close to them.ThanksRick

RR Tay? Isn't that engine the one that powers the Fokker 100? You could download and install the Fokker 100 of Project Fokker, and then alias the 727 sounds to the Fokker ones. But I was convinced the 727 was powered by 3 Pratt & Whitney JT8D, the same ones that the 737-200 use. In this case, you could use the TinMouse sounds instead.Best regards from ColombiaLuis Miguel

I thought I read on one of their news releases, where UPS retro'd their 727's with these engines for fuel eff. and quietness. Actually there is another web site that shows all their 27's have been updated. http://www.freightersonline.com/fleet.aspx?a=u&s=aAs for using an engine sound, I was looking for a custom sound (from the many in the library), that would come close to this engine. Does this engine have the typical RR sound, or is it different?Rick

May I suggest David Maltby's site. I think it is DMFltsim.com. He has a lot of British aircraft of which one is the Trident which is a 3 holer and he has RR Spey sounds for that aircraft. This might be what you are looking for........Dennis

Oops, I didn't know that. I stand corrected. Anyway, you could try aliasing the 727 sound to the Project Fokker ones (they also use Tays).Best regards from ColombiaLuis Miguel
