Basically says 'after 2 years of semi absence, I'm proud to announce we're back in business with my friend Pierre (modeling) and me doing the textures--our work will please all of you--our first priority is the Falcon 10--a small business jet but we have several others in the lineup' He didn't say whether it was pay or free but looking at the site, and reading the other projects, it looks like a freeware site.Anyhoo--those 4 years of french in HS and 2 years of french in college haven't gone to waste--I've actually used my broken french when transiting the airspace from the UK to Italy in the USAF (F-15E)--english is the universal avaition language except when overflying france ; )--controlled airspace begins at 4000feet--and you must call every turn/reporting point...french controllers are notorious for going on strike at the most inoportune time--like attempting to overfly the country.avoirKemoF15

Yes F-15Es...492FS out of RAF Lakenheath from 93-97...we deployed numerous times to Aviano AB in support of Deny Flight/Deliberate Force and later Allied Force and thus had to overfly France many times. The options when the controllers went on strike were either use the Shanwick Corridor off the coast of Spain (recall Operation Eldorado Canyon the F-111 airstrikes in Libya in 1986--the French would not allow overflight so an 8 hour mission turned into a 14 hour mission) or cancel IFR and try to VFR our way across France below 4000.Most of the time the FAF would send up their Mirage IIIs to work intercepts and gather "data" from our air-to-air radar (APG 70)--we weren't surprised when the French came up with a very good radar jamming package a year or so later--which I believe they sold in the market place.Though I don't agree with their politics, I still I dig the wine, the women, and southern France (Avignon/Provence): ) plus...Eric Marciano is a rockin flight sim programmer who lives in France...so I'm not universally slamming the country ; )KemoF15 dvd-115-09-2.jpg

As the late great Sam Kinison pointed out, "Hey, well maybe our aim would have been a little better if we'd HAD SOME MORE F****** SLEEP!!" :-hahRegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Winter...well it is, yes, such as Winter is here. It was 65 deg yesterday (Chilean holiday) as I was hiking in the Las Condes hills around the casa and looking up at the snow-covered Andes. Skiing is great in them thar hills right now, too.It definitely beats the 0600 view of I-395 from the back of a slugmobile!CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Sounds fab...no more slug rides for me...I retired June 1 and headed to Montgomery AL...somehow Chile sounds a bit more appealing : ) I debated moving to the airlines but opted for a teaching job at the war college (go figure). Maxwell AFB has got a pretty active aeroclub with a couple light twins to "play" with.I hate to see you pitch out of the airbus forum--we definitely need your experience/expertise--I suspect we can push for some localizer fixes etc if we combine arms.Kemo
