A New Sim: The Wright Flyer Simulation

Recommended Posts

Guest Paul_W

For those interested in high fidelity flight modelling, how about this:"The Wright flight models will use quaternion based non-linear equations of motion, with a complete set of nonlinear table based aerodynamic coefficient data representing the aerodynamic characteristics, all integrated with an Adams Bashforth integration scheme. What this means is that the model will use the same structural mechanization that complex military training simulations use to achieve the most representative, physically realistic flight behaviors of the modeled aircraft."The above was taken from the link that follows; hopefully this will all be applied some day to Cessnas and Pipers.http://www.bihrle.com/WrightFlyerInfo.html#midhttp://www.octagon1.com/newsframe.htm(See the news entry dated March 2nd.)
