How do I give FS9 the CURRENT real world approach courses and headings?

Featured Replies

I'm a commercially certificated pilot in real life so I've got all the latest charts. I'm wondering how to update approach courses so that they match up with real world current charts. I'm noticing that many airways, runways and localizers among other things, are a few degrees off because the data was obviously compiled back a few years ago. How do I change these things? Do I have to update AFCAD files or what?

It does not provide a full answer but at least some clues:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...26321&mode=fullPerhaps this file helps also a bit: magdec2005.zip (Updated Magnetic variation file (2005) for FS2004) to be found here in the library.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://fool.exler.ru/sm/fly2.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"

bingo - thanks a ton.

I have used that updated magdec file for a long time and haven't seen any problem. Note that the chart may not have the current variation either.scott s..

I think you would benifit from using a more indepth flightplanner like FSNav, It allows updates of navdata and is by far a better f/planner than the FS9 one, you can, also create SID/STARS and add them to the database.http://www.fsnavigator.com/Dave F.
