No, they are not.I have both and the Maddog2006 is way, way ahead of the Super 80, both system wise as the flight model. They really cannot be compared. The only grief I have with MD2006 are sometimes the faulty SID/STAR procedure files causing troubles

I started with the Iron Knuckles DC9 then the Super80 and now Maddog 2006. And I agree, there is no comparison. The Maddog has the same meticulous attention to system accuracy and fidelity as LevelD, PMDG, RFP, Flight1's ATR and DreamFleet. You can fly the Maddog with airline checklist and procedures. The control panel adds instructor type oversight/control relative to ground functions and malfunctions. The addition of a VC will put the Maddog in the top five best commercial jets available IMHO. Agree with both gentlemen. It really is one of the best.Have both and took the Super 80 off. Never was able to get the Super 80 to work without OOM errors.

I have both add-ons and BOTH work wonderfully! If you're an FMC-kinda guy, the go for the Maddog (but get the Jet City Aircraft models.. the Maddog model is horrible!)Since the Maddog doesn't have a VC, it doesn't really matter... but visually, the Maddog model is poorly modeled. If you like a more "hands-on" navigation experience, then stick with the Super80! The performance is smooth and the external model with VC is beautifully done! The training/dispatch center is a very nice, helpful feature too!I like them both and use them both often... I'm not one of the "Coke/Pepsi" simmers... I tend to like each product for its own merits and not because of blind loyalty. Some people don't like the Maddog because they find the FMC too complicated, thus they say it's a bad product.. likewise, some people don't know how to fly WITHOUT an FMC, therefore they dimiss the Super80 as being a bad product. As an 8000+ hour REAL WORLD pilot with several thousand hours of turbine time, I can tell you that BOTH products are pretty realistic (within the limits of FS9)Each one of these products has excellent features and good performance... they also both have drawbacks. It all boils down to YOUR preference for systems/cockpit style.- Alex
