ILS localiser

Recommended Posts

Guest stefstep

Hi,I noticed a weird behaviour of the loc for 2 ILS approaches (Napoli ILS06 and Dubai ILS30R).As the G/S indicator seems to work properly, the loc always indicates a path right of the actual runway track. As far as you might know, what could be the issue with these two approaches ?For information, I flew the PSS Airbus A319 for both of them.Thanks.

I can't vouch for those two approaches, but there can be "offset" localizer approaches at airports, which bring you in at an angle to the landing runway until you reach decision height. Sometimes such approaches are required to clear terrain, or obstructions, or to avoid sensitive areas.-John

Are you using add on scenery? The OMDB Rwy 30R loc is correctly located at the end of the default runway and aligned correctly. The default LIRN does not have an ILS on Rwy 06.

For OMDB, can the addon scenery influence the alignment of the loc ?For LIRN, the ILS rwy 06 might have been published after the release of FS2004.Gonna try with the LIRN ILS rwy 24 if I meet the same issue.Thanks.

For OMDB, can the addon scenery influence the alignment of the loc ?Many addon sceneries will have runways or other items in different locations than the default FS.If the runway moved to the left a bit and the scenery developer did not rewrite the localizer position and the approaches - the localizer will line up the aircraft with the old/ default runway position.
