Afcad Question on Frequency's for Non Towered fields....

Recommended Posts

I recently made a modified afcad for an airport that is non towered. All i did was add parking spots. I now have no atis from there where as i had before. All the frequency's are the same as the stock file as the mod file? Any ideas?Thanks....

Thanks for the reply. The frequncy's that are in there are the same as the stock afcad. The new modified has the same frequncys but, the atis does not work. I can select on the radios in flight but it is dead.

Okay - under the Comm Frequency list - does the AWOS have a name or ICAO code listed by it?It should not - but an ATIS does require the ICAO code - I don't know why the difference.Checking a stock FS9 install - F70 does have AWOS information. After you removed the addon AFCAD file - be sure to delete the scenery.dat file for the Addon Scenery folder - that holds cached information and FS does a very poor job of clearing the cache of old / deleted information.

No Name or ICAO listed by it.scenery .dat file is not there. Thanks for the help.......

Let me clarify that....after removal of the Afcad 2 (Add On) of F70, I deleted the scenery.dat file and FS made a new on upon re-starting. Still no AWOS heard over the radio, but, i can select it in the radio menu. Thanks,

Hi,I'll repeat what Reggie said - for it to work, it MUST have the ICAO code of the airport as it's name. In the frequency list, double click on the AWOS line, and enter F70 as it's name. Then save, restart FS, and try it.--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Ok, Here's what i did. Since i don't want to do a re-install at this point, I opened the modified F70 Afcad2 and removed the AWOS and added ATIS in the comm. Box. Now, F70 does not have ATIS in real life (My FBO) but, it will have to serfice until i re-install FS because i think there is a file in FS that went south on me. At this point, as long as i can get the info needed (Winds, RWY in Use ect..) when inbound to F70, thats ok by me. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.......

I did a flight from F70 to KAVX and come to find out, AWOS is silent there also? Does anyone know of what file in FS controls that part and maybe i can just retreive it off the original disc's and install that file? or Is there i file i can delete that FS will rebuild upon re-startup? I am trying to avoid a re-install of FS9 at all cost since so far at this time, this is the only problem im having. I went ahead and installed ATIS for KAVX so i can have inbound and Field info, but in real life KAVX does not have ATIS, they have AWOS.Thanks........
