viewing the map

Recommended Posts

I'm curious to know if there is a way to "display/hide" the map in fs2004 with a single key. Right now I have it to open with the "comma" key,but in order to close it,I must move the mouse pointer to the "ok" and click it closed. A minor inconvenience at the most I know, however I was just curious if there is another way. Thanks!Skip d

This is easy. One method is to go to "settings" when the FS9 screen loads, then to "assignments", then in the upper left box select "views" and the in the screen below locate "Hide/display map" and assign the key or key combo you wish in the 'keyboard assignments' column. The default has this unassigned.Jim D.a.k.a. 'ilovetofly'

Well, it's not quite that easy. Obviously you have figured out how to assign a key to display the map. Unfortunately it is deceiving in that it says Hide/Display map, yet won't actually hide the map. However, if you have done nothing in the map view except look at it you can just hit the enter key and it will return you to the sim.

I'll be darned Joe. That does work. Do you think there may be a way to assign a keypress to the mouse click on the enter button?
