December 28, 200718 yr Hi,In the area where that happened, you need more parking spaces at those airports.Happy Holidays,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
December 28, 200718 yr I have just completed my first long-haul flight (LIRF-KBOS)What you noticed is completely normal for long haul flights. The AI aircraft database includes grids with times and information about when AI aircraft should appear in that grid. As you cross grid boundaries on your flight - new data is read from the database (Traffic files) and new aircraft are loaded and those no longer appropriate are deleted. One thing which happens is the routes we fly usually follow some airways and real world tracks, while the AI all fly great circle tracks. This can easily result in a stituation where one or several AI flights flying your approximate route will appear and disappear many times during a journey such as yours. There are no computers available today which could handle the task of actually 'flying' and tracking all the AI aircraft worldwide, even if FS were programmed to make that possible. We'd be down to 2 or 3 frames per minute.
December 28, 200718 yr Author Thank you for your help on this Jim and Reggie. :-)Is this normal even when there are no airports in the vicinity of my aircraft? It was indeed a long haul flight but the first time it happened was about 45 minutes after takeoff.I had never seen my EHSI with so many white diamonds nor the sky with so many contrails. :-lolThanks again.Best, Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
December 28, 200718 yr Hi,Yes, especially as you cross the AI sector boundaries.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
