Slewing

Recommended Posts

Guest

Slewing was once valuable to me in repositioning my aircraft but it seems more and more that every time I use it, and then turn it off, that my plane all of a sudden explodes in flight. In an attempt to eliminate this phenomena I've even emptied the gas tanks on planes. It always surprises me when they too take off as if they were shot out of a gun.I assume you all have experienced this. Does anyone have a "fix" for it? It is getting very irritating.Bill :-roll

Try F1 function key before unslewing. I think that this will bring the engines to idle and the plane will stay on ground...This has solved the problem for me...Happy slewing :-)Thanos AnogiatisOAL678

I always pause the sim before exiting slew mode. You also have to be careful that the plane has been slewed down so its wheels are on the ground again (assuming you were slewing while taxiing, that is!)When I take the sim off pause I never have the problem of rocketing off at full throttle.

Thanks to both Thanos68 and Rockcliffe. I'll be trying your suggestions which sound good. Maybe I can finally put this bugaboo to rest.Bill :-roll

Hi Bill...I agree with Rockcliffe & Thanos68......also, if you press keypad 5 (I think it's 5), it will suspend all slewing, and level out the plane, etc. I have a force-feedback joystick, so I try to make sure that the yoke in centered/throttles off (or whatever, depending on flight or taxiing).Stanley
