Three more Catalina Textures for Free

Recommended Posts

Hi Simmers,Abacus Software has released a Fly-before-Buy Consolidated PBY5A Catalina over at their site (she is available for FSX and FS2004) - http://www.abacuspub.com (end of sales pitch )What is important is that I have released another three texture sets for those that have this aircraft and would like to try out some different liveries on her.Totally Free downloads available at my site - http://www.gjsmith.net - hit the Catalogue button and scroll down to the Catalina - and away you go - 6 free liveries there now.The three new releases are: TAA Sunbird Services, a RNoAF military, and a fictitious TAA with newer livery theme and some fun artwork.Pics of additional liveries now available:http://www.gjsmith.net/images/Textures/PBY-1a-pic.jpghttp://www.gjsmith.net/images/Textures/PBY...F-1-Picture.jpghttp://www.gjsmith.net/images/Textures/PBY-TAA2-1a.jpgRegards and, as always, happy simming

Sure Rob, I am open to requests for this girl but I need good colour photos that show all aspects for the livery you may require - good copy of logos etc as well if necessary. She is a very hard girl to research as almost all that I have come across are black and white photos. Lot of great pic on airliners.net but after a while it seems to be lots of the same group of aircraft. Regards

Just a suggestion even though I don't have the airplane which has always been one of my favorites.Jacques-Yves Cousteau had a PBY for his Cousteau Society. One his TV programs had it flying in Africa and I believe it traced the source of the Nile by air for that program. They filmed at times from one of the bubbles and I think that was the first time that I ever saw the wing vortex swirl a cloud after passing through it.One of his sons, possibly Philip, was the pilot and subsequently was killed I believe off the coast of Spain when it crashed.Color documentation might be found by searching the Cousteau Society.

OK the Cousteau Livery is now under development. The principle artwork has been completed - the curves for the artwork were a titch complex for both the fuselage and the pontoons - but got that out of the road. Now have to enrich the textures with "shadings" and detail enrichment - will publish her in a couple of days for your flying pleasure. Here is a pic of how she looks so far.http://www.gjsmith.net/images/Textures/PBY-ud.jpg
