FSGlobal X 2008

Recommended Posts

Hi,Anyone using FSGlobal X 2008 with FS2004/FS9?. If so, what scenery enhancements do you see while using FS2004/FS9?. All the screen shots on Flight1 show scenery improvements to FSX. I have not been able to find any for FS2004/FS9.Is FSGlobal X 2008 worth buying if I own other scenery enhancing add-on software packages?.Is FSGlobal X 2008 better than other scenery enhancing add-on software packages on the market today?.Products I already own: Ground Environment Pro, Ultimate Terrain, FScene 4 (Which is a pain in the butt To Install, Instructions Stink), USA Roads, BEV, FSGenesis, as well as others. Thanks

Also, hasn't this been released before by Pilot's software? Are there any differences with this version?

Hi,My understanding is that FSGlobal X 2008 is mesh terrain. Since I use all of FSGenesis's Mesh Terrain, is FSGlobal X 2008 better than FSGenesis?.Thanks

You can find out the difference between 2005 and 2008 onhttp://www.fsglobal2005.com/indexA.htm2008 offers improved resolution in many areas. more coverage, and updated data in many areas. The package includes both FSX and FS8/9 installs.

Reviews:http://www.avsim.com/pages/0208/FSGlobal/FSGlobal.htmCould not find any recent for FS9 and FS Genesis. The descriptive product page is here:http://www.fsgenesis.com/Merchant2/merchan...egory_Code=DVD9On this page is the coverage for each area with LOD.The reference to 2005 FSG was for another poster here. I replied to the wrong one :)I could be misinterpreting but at this time ON AVERAGE AREA COVERAGE of 38m it looks like FSG2008 covers a wider area but you'll have to do your own intepretation.FSG claims it uses more refined mesh processed from 2006 SRTM data at 38 m or better interpreting and correcting where necessary. You might wish to read this:http://fsim.net/fsglobalx//englisch2.htmand this:http://www.fsglobalx.com/indexA.htmboth from FSG.Hope this helps your decision.

here (again) are the stats for FS Genesis for FS2004 if anyone would like them. jerrycw04PS I've had Flight Sim for 10 years since FS 1998 and always thought that my "picture" of it was really good, as good as you can have. I was wrong. I only fly FS2004 and I have just purchased(on sale) and installed the comple FS2004 package of FS Genesis Mess and my Flight Sim has never looked better. The elevation and shape of the mountains in the USA and Hawaii really look great These two laces have some of the high LOD (Level of Detail)!
