mimpmaps question

Recommended Posts

Guest Clement Guivarc h

Hi ! I've downloaded Patrizio Fangio's Alitalia repaint for the Meljet 777 200. Unfortunately, I get the "blurry textures" problem because of the mimpam level. So I tried to reduce the mipmap level from 11 to 1 using imagetool. The texture format is 32 bits. Unfortunately, when I reduce the mipmap level to 1 the alpha channel does not work any more. :'(So can you tell men how to reduce the mipmap level without getting rid of the alpha channel ?What do I have to do ?Thanks !../)_/). _ Cl

Hi Clement, there are probably a 1001 different ways, but here is mine:Download and install DXTBmp (available here at the library). Open the texture in imagetool and convert to 32bit and save. Then open it in DXTBmp, under 'Prefs' de-select 'include Mips', edit anything you want while you're at it (or not, as you wish), then save as 'DXT3'.That should do the trick.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

Ok Gosta, but I don't want to convert those textures to dxt3, because the quality in better if it's 32bits.Andr

Hi Clement,if you prefer 32bit textures, you can save it in that format as well using DXTBmp - just follow the same procedure, but select '32bit' instead of 'DXT3'.However, as you said, you should be able to do that in imagetool.Do you have a link to the file, so we can all try it out? There seems to be something unusual about those textures...Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
