FS9.cfg tweaks

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, very often I experience blurries or unsharp textures in high altitudes and partly during the approach.I heard that a change of certain parameter within the fs9.cfg can solve this issue.Does anybody have experience with that?Would be glad to get some advice :)Regards,

Hi Marius! These are the usual cfg entries I like to play with. That said, haven't tried any additional "tweaks" for quite a while now and blurries seem no factor at all. Well, in FS9 at least...MAX_UNLIMITED_VIS=48280(DISPLAY.Device....)TriLinear=1(DISPLAY)UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=24TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=240(TERRAIN)TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=3Essentially these are the result of some trial'n error on my rig. Just give them a try. Your system looks like it should be able to handle FS9 nicely. Don't forget to activate Antialiasing and Filtering from within your graphics driver.Happy Easter!Holger

I agree with the ounce of prevention proverb, but when necessary the cure is to assign a key to 'reload scenery' from the FS9 menu.By default FS doesn't assign any key to this function, so I put it on the 'pause/break key. Which I then map over to a joystick button. Wiggle my thumb and it redraws the scenery in about 2 seconds, taking out the blurs and grays.

Go to Settings /Assignments and scroll down the the entry labeled Refresh Scenery and assign a key combination of your choice. It will tell you if your choice is already in use so you can try some other entry.
