PDFKneeboard - beta

Recommended Posts

Guest nilsca

HiI've put together a module for my own chart-in-the-cockpit-needs and would like to get others to test it and send me some input. This is beta software atm: PDFKneeboard - a module for showing charts (PDF files really) within Flight Simulator 2004. Smaller than Acrobat Reader and better integrated, support for joystick button show/hide, etc. - please have a lookhttp://code.google.com/p/fscode/wiki/PDFKneeboardDirect download is available herehttp://fscode.googlecode.com/files/PDFKneeboard09.zipGlaring omissions / future features: + doesn't reload documents on restart + doesn't remember page, zoom, rotation as last viewed before restart + would be nice to bookmark individual pages in pdf files that can be jumped to for example via button clickRegardsNils

Do you know how much energy (and money!) I've spent in the last year trying to use PDF files while flying in FS9?? This could be a godsend to me! I hate killing trees so I print EVERYTHING in PDF these days.I'll install it and test it this weekend Nils -- no matter what happens, thanks for your effort!(Does this have a word search feature -- I see no bookmarks either.)

Chuck> ( Does this have a word search feature -- I see no bookmarks either. )no word search or bookmarks/document outline at the momentI'm figuring that some kind of bookmarking within PDFView or through the modules ini-file might be required though, something like[bookmarks]#icao,keyword,pdf,pagebookmark1=CYYZ,Linning6,cyyz-arrivals.pdf,3bookmark2=CYYZ,ILS25,cyyz-iap.pdf,8...If there was a way to quickly select such bookmark, then jumping from approach to instrument approach chart would be pretty convenientA detailed settings dialog for keyboard/button assignments is also in the works btwCheersNils

Thanks Nils! For me, I would much rather have the word search feature before the bookmarking feature -- with word search, I can always search the .PDF doc for the topic I'm looking for; IMO with that, book marks almost become redundant.
