AI Scheduling Question

Recommended Posts

Guest FlyPortland

Hey FolksQuick question here. I have begun to install some World Of AI packages however have noticed that certain airline packages are available for certain seasonal schedules only, ie Summer 2007. Is it possible to mix packages with different seasonal schedules? If so, what would happen if two different airlines had a flight scheduled into a given airport at the exact same time? Does the built in ATC take care of these issues or does it replicate the AI schedule verbatim and lead to traffic problems? Thanks in Advance.Liam

It's possible to have all sorts of diffrent seasons schedules as long as you don't have the same airline twice - FS9 does not take this information into account in any way and will just show all the flights. A problem will occur if you have two packages for the same airline - then you will see both sets of AI at the same time!Geoff

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm still a bit confused how FS deals with the schedules themselves. Suppose airline A and airline B had an exact matching departure and landing time for a given flight our of the same airport. Would you see the two airplanes taking off and landing side by side, or perhaps two planes graphically merged together? Or would FS disregard one of the flights so that this sort of scheduling conflict would not occur? Thanks

If you have 2 different airline schedules installed (whatever season) and airline A and airline B have a depature and arrival at the same time you will see them pushback and taxi at the same time but they wont taxi on top of each other. They will just taxi and then take off one after the other as if they would in real life.Same applis for arrivals they will approch at the same time, however you may have a go around situation in airline A comfluights with airline B for landing. To solve this you could use something like AI smooth or AI seperator which are free utilities which are meant to space out AI traffic to ensure less go arounds.
