CLS-747-200 = RFP 747-200

Recommended Posts

I was always very impressed with the RFP-747-200. It not only accurately simulated the classic 747, but, in terms of the history of PC flight simulation, the RFP 747 will go down as a classic in its own right. After purchasing it back in 2004 and spending all of that time reading and studying the manual (it was big 300 plus pages if I remember right), I had a much deeper appreciation for heavies and PC flight simulation in general.I was pretty excited to see the ad for the CLS 747-200/300. How does it compare, in terms of systems and accuracy, when compared to the classic RFP 747? RH

Hi,Not play many time with the CLS .. but IMHO if you want full accuracy of all the systems ..the RFP is your best choice....If you like the textures of CLS (they are very good as usual) a merge must be possible if you interested.Check this post:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=set...page=show_topicfrom the CLS 747 forum:Panel shots are here:https://www.commerciallevel.com/index.php?id=92It has a good range of functionality, our SP1 which is due to be released soon features our famous F-Lite style FMC. There are more than just landing lights and seat belt buttons. Our panel for the 747-200/300 product is designed for beginner to intermediate users, if you're looking for full functionality panel, the freeware RFP 747-200 is available from Avsim File Library and an unofficial merge has been posted by one of our customer.RFP 747-200 panel features a lot more functions, it's indeed systematic approach, so you have to read the manual, configure things before you could even start the engines.I hope this answers your question.Cheers.

Thats a pretty accurate description. I personally really like the CLS bird because I travel so much i dont have time for all the systems stuff. I prefer navigating and enjoying the sim visually. (hence frequent VFR light aircraft flyer.)I have merged the CLS panel into POSKY B742 and B743 however and thats fun. POSKY has so many paints and models. Im mainly waiting for the CLS 742 Freighter. That will be great if they EVER finish it! :-)Eric

CLS is absolutly not like RFP.It looks wonderfull, but if you want to fly a 742 then go for the now free RFP. If you want to fly a jumbo what looks fantastic, but lacks the functionality, no systems modelled, just as the default 737 then choose the CLS.CLS is great, but it will soon be boring because of the default systems.JohanA LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE..http://www.jdserver.mine.nu/johanGlobal Logistics VAhttp://www.jdserver.mine.nu/va
