Posky 777-200v2 released

Recommended Posts

Is it me, or perhaps slightly too much winglex? Currently cruising along just near TOD, seems a little extreme for my weight of 183,500kg?

Currently>cruising along just near TOD, seems a little extreme for my>weight of 183,500kg?>It appears that you're missing the XML gauges that control the wingflex, landing gear tilt, etc... I had the same problem until I added them as a 4th entry in the VC of my PSS panel merge.Make sure they are in the VC section of your panel CFG.

>Is it me, or perhaps slightly too much winglex? Currently>cruising along just near TOD, seems a little extreme for my>weight of 183,500kg?Yes, impressive, especially from this angle. But not something exceptional, I guess.Triple Sevens have a really huuuge wingflex.http://www.airliners.net/photo/Emirates/Bo...6N-ER/1160677/Lhttp://www.airliners.net/photo/American-Ai...3-ER/1286565/L/http://www.airliners.net/photo/British-Air...6-ER/0899338/L/What's more, as far as I remember, you can reduce the wingflex animation code in Posky new aircraft series.Best regards,Rafal

>>Try adding more trim, somewhere around 9 nose up seems to>>work reasonably well.>>Yes, exactly. The bird indeed is more heavy to lift up and to>brake down than PSS.>That probably comes from the 'Weight and Balance' section that>I did not change in my merge leaving it as Posky's original.>I can try to tune it later, when I find some time.>Or if someone else wants to do it, that would also be nice. Hi, thanks for your reply, I tried to do it and didn't got better. Please tell me if you get it.

Has anyone integrated the POSKY utility and the autobrake over the PSS panel so we can have them in reasonable places and not need to open them separately?Henry

191576.jpgThe 'merge' went well - but now I am left with this view (cropped to show the problem)My 2d panel view points about 30degrees down to the runway - I can "shift <-" to get the view up but cant find the section in panel to change the view correctly.I have been editing VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=9.000, 0.000, 0.000 but it doesnt seem to make a difference to the angle of the view...Any helpScott

Hi guys,Thank you Rafal and Bonkster for the merge! I worked on it some more and came to this:1. Copy {airplane_geometry} and {weight_and_balance} from PSS Aircraft.cfg to your Posky Aircraft.cfg. Now you can use PSS Loader -- just copy the {weight_and_balance} section again into the Posky Aircraft.cfg after adjusting the loads in the PSS Load manager. Works perfectly.2. Third VC entry in Panel.cfg should have the Pky* things as well:{VCockpit03}file=$vc_03.bmpBackground_color=0,0,0size_mm=1024,1024visible=0pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$vc_03gauge00=Posky777!Pky_AdvInit, 140,80,140,80gauge01=Posky777!PkyNosegearheight, 140,80,140,80gauge02=Posky777!PkyLeftgearheight, 140,80,140,80gauge03=Posky777!PkyLeftgearboggie, 140,80,140,80gauge04=Posky777!PkyRightgearheight, 140,80,140,80gauge05=Posky777!PkyRightgearboggie, 140,80,140,80gauge06=Posky777!PkyCALC, 140,80,140,80gauge07=Posky777!PkyWINGROOTFLEX, 140,80,140,80gauge08=Posky777!PkyRWINGMIDFLEX, 140,80,140,80gauge09=Posky777!PkyLWINGMIDFLEX, 140,80,140,80gauge10=Posky777!PkyRWINGTIPFLEX, 140,80,140,80gauge11=Posky777!PkyLWINGTIPFLEX, 140,80,140,80gauge12=Posky777!PkyNosegearsteerling, 140,80,140,80gauge13=Posky777!PkyRudder, 140,80,140,80gauge14=Posky777!Pky2Rudder, 140,80,140,80gauge15=Posky777!PkyflaperonL, 140,80,140,80gauge16=Posky777!PkyflaperonR, 140,80,140,80gauge17=Posky777!PkyLSAileronL, 140,80,140,80gauge18=Posky777!PkyLSAileronR, 140,80,140,80gauge19=Posky777!PkySpoiler, 140,80,140,80gauge20=Posky777!PkyElev, 140,80,140,80gauge21=Posky777!PkyAPUDoor, 140,80,140,80gauge22=Posky777!PkyEngRev, 140,80,140,80gauge23=Pky_glassdirt!Pky_glassdirt, 0,0,1024,10243. Integration of Posky Utility to the main panel:I simply made the window visible, not actually integrating it into the main panel, but it works great. Entry ident=Posky Utility, VISIBLE=1I customized the graphics to match the panel, but for obvious reasons, I won't post the files! Here's how itlooks:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/191577.jpg4. VC lighting: I did some changes to make VC main instruments much brighter during the day. I also changed the color to more whitish. Here's how:- Open the file Opensky_747_vclight.fx in your FS_main_folder/EffectsFind this part and change the numbers as shown in bold text. Gone is the yellow hue:{ParticleAttributes.0}Blend Mode=2Texture=fx_2.bmpBounce=0.00Color Start=222, 222, 222, 1Color End=222, 222, 222, 0- Open your Aircraft.cfg and change the VC light entries - find them in the {Lights} section. This will position the lights to illuminatethe instruments:light.x = 4, 87.3, 1.6, 2.2, Opensky_747_vclightlight.x = 4, 87.3, -1.6, 2.2, Opensky_747_vclightlight.x = 4, 86.5, 0.0, 4.3, Opensky_747_vclightthe "x" after "light." should be whatever number you have in your Aircraft.cfg. This is how the VC looks with VC lights off and on:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/191578.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/191579.jpgThat's it. :)EDIT: Scott, my panel.cfg has this entry:VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=1.000, 0.000, 0.000... and it works just great. Maybe you have another entry in there? Also, check if you have all square brackets. Weird things will happen if brackets are not square.Regards,Jure

Hi Rafal,"Yes, impressive, especially from this angle. But not something exceptional, I guess."Yes, I agree. Another Post mentions the large GE-90 engines on the POSKY model.Yet, I still prefer my my PSS B772LR. I attach a .jpg to support my comment.Ken

Thanks for the help - my panel view is now correct. Could you post what your panel entry looks like to get the util gauge visible?ThanksScott

Well... for me, the only real reason I've even used the POSKY model is because of the VC (and Corey Ford's UA paints)... other than that, it's a pig on frame rates. The Overland models are just as good from the outside IMO... and much more frame-rate friendly. If you do decide to go with POSKY, my advice is to convert the textures to DXT3 (they always seem to do way too many texture sheets for their models) and also make sure you copy the XML gauges in the Panel CFG if you merge w/PSS... otherwise you won't have animated bogies, flexing wings, etc...

I should have added that the BA livery on my PSS B772LR is by Ben Jones, circa 2005.Ken
