Auto pilot in a DHC-2 Beaver

Recommended Posts

On my "Freight Dogs" flights I'm getting tired on flying by hand some times. Does anyone have a panel for a Beaver that has an Autopilot? I've put an Autopilot into a number of planes that didn't have one before, but I'm having trouble doing it to the Beaver. Do you have a beaver panel with one in it or know where I can get one? Thanks jerrycwo4

Jerry,You could add the the following to your aircraft.cfg file and use the autopilot commands found on your kneeboard.[autopilot]use_no_default_bank=1use_no_default_pitch=0autopilot_available=1 All that you are changing here is the number 1 behind the autopilot_available=0 line. This line is usually three quarters of the way down the aircraft.cfg file.Tom

WOW WOW WOW UNBELIEVABLE !!!! All these years trying to figgure out how to install an Auto pilot into a plane without one and then finally doing it, BUT all I had to do was change a "0" to a "1" in ther airfile. It WORKED !!!! I use the AP buttons on my Microsoft Flightstick to engause altitude and heading when they reach the desired setting that I reach flying by hand. I still don't know how or why it works, but it works. That was just what I was looking for. Thanks again. I did download that souped up beaver from the other website but I have not install it yet. jerrycwo4:-)
