Re-direct and timeout.

Recommended Posts

I have been using GE for some time without a problem, but this evening, every request has the response Re-direct followed by a Timeout. Does this mean the Uncle G has cottoned on to me?I restarted and switched to VE and had no problems.George

I shouldn't think so. I've had the redirects from ge too but I was on the actual ge program earlier scoping out cool flyzones and I must have used up at least 500mb just by browsing so I doubt they would know where the data is going, or care for that matter.

Try this. Beta 3 has a new connection limit argument duringtransfers. It prevents TileProxy from sending too many requeststo the server. And it is less likely that this triggers theserver side blacklist. There might still be a traffic basedblacklist. Hard to tell, as they are not telling anyone. The thing you insert in proxyUser.INI in the module_config stringis a conn=20 followed by a pipe delimiter sign |module_config="conn=20|"20 is the maximum number of simultaneous HTTP requests. Lower itas needed. With this argument it is now possible to raise the bulk_extend valueto 50 or 100 without GE immediately blacklisting you. ;) The resultis that larger patches of terrain get downloaded and that is a bitmore optimal in terms of speed.

Well right now you are already ON the blacklist. You have to wait a few hours, change your IP address or use Virtual Earth for now.

That was all I was getting So I must be doing something wrong I thought Could also be I am in an area where my Sprint is getting a slower signl Is it better if I have a faster connection to the internet? Would this be causing my Problems?

I think I have fallen victim to the "blacklist" myself.I waited 7 hours and still get redirects now. (VE works ok though)How can I check if my IP is indeed blacklisted by GE?I am now addicted to TileProxy use.. what a fantastic addition to FSX.

I don't think GE nor MS will answer that question, lol.But what I did find out, as I've been blocked for the 2nd time, is that when you go to maps.google.com and set the sattelite view you're able to see if you're blocked or not. When the image at it's highest altitude starts blabbering about "We are sorry, but we don't have imagery...etc" you know you're still blocked. I found this to be the easiest way of checking. :)

Open this URL in Internet Explorerhttp://kh0.google.com/kh?n=404&v=&t=tIf you're prompted to enter a captcha (graphical image of letters wildly distorted) you know you're on their list.Oh, passing the captcha test does not mean you're unblocked. You just get a browser cookie (in IE) that allows you to pass subsequent requests. But TileProxy doesn't have access to that cookie.

Ahh, thanks for the link.my blacklisting expired sometime yesterday, but that didnt last long ;) Still, have been loving the quality of Hawaiian images from the "other" major player. Can't wait till they get more GlobeXplorer and Ultracam images up and I can't wait till my blacklisting expires either :)

I also had the problem today with beta 7A lot of redirect and timeout. Seems I am blocked on GE (I only load one area in tile Proxy, at the second loading, I am already blocked.I have set connect=5 and timeout=4 (I have 512kbits download)Is there any solution to don't be blocked by GE even if download is slower?

The captchaform thing works for me. Needs to be configured right thoughcaptchamodule=captchaformcaptcha_config="cookiedomain=foobar.com|cookieurl=http://www.foobar.com"replace the obvious with the obviousChristian
