Vanguard

Hello everyone, got a question for you. I've done a search for Vanguard AC but only come up with "older" models from fs2k. I thought for sure this far into fs2002 there would be some "new" gmax type repaints of this retired airline. They flew 732's and the MD 80 series ac which would be perfect for FFX.

Any idea if anything is in the works?

Thank you for the response but actually I was talking about the recently defunct airline that was based in Kansas City, here's a link if anyone with the skills (I don't) would like to give it a shot. Personally I think they had kind of a neat paint scheme going on. The geen, blue, black and purple were their new paint schemes. http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search

Maybe we'll get lucky and some kind talented soul will do both old and new colors of Vanguard. Glad to see I'm not the only one, I was starting to get a complex. lol. I live in Nebraska, so flying Vanguard out of KC was a cheap way to go. I have flown on both, their 737-200 and MD 80's. With the new FFX models out, they both now would look great.

I've been asking for awhile now so hopefully someone does it. I used to fly Vangard out of Minneapolis to Chicago to visit family. Vangard would fly into Chicago Midway, they were a cool little airline.

Hey dilloll0, I talked to a buddy of mine who paints racecars for Nascar 2003, about getting a Vanguard paintjob for a 732 or MD80. He doesn't do planes but thought that maybe the reason nobody has painted it yet is because its to difficult of a scheme for most painters to handle, or else they just haven't gotten to it yet. Your guess is as good as mine. I see so many obscure airlines painted so I'm thinking that those with the abilities maybe just don't care to do it, or it is just to hard, who knows.

It is in the works as we speak. All I need to do is work on the lettering. It is the basic blue and white scheme. It is hard to find a decent photo to get the accurate colors. I've got a bunch from airliners.net.It looks like the last 4 I did are no longer in service. :(Brent Hebert

Brent That's great news. I for one really appreciate it. I was beginning to think that I wouldn't see a Vanguard repaint. You said the basic blue and white, are you talking about Vanguards old colors? If so I then assume your painting the 732. I'm not even going to ask about painting the MD80:) Thanks again.

Hey Brent, I too would like to say thanks for the repaint. It's good to know someone out there was listening. The Blue and white scheme is exactly what I was looking for!!! I just hope someone does a Vangard MD80 for Bryan..Thanks again...

I wouldn't know where to start with a dirty job. :)The registration number of the one I am painting is N205AU and those engines are bare metal, however that can change for you. Brent Hebert
