what is anistropic filtering

it basically sharpens the textures.When its off, trextures can look blurry, especially at angles or with aa on.With af on, textures are always very sharp.Some people hardly notice it, while others can't live without it!Personally i love the way it makes the terrain look in fs2002, but you have to see how it affects your fps.
