Panning Speed

Recommended Posts

My son is a pilot. He prefers the 2d panel only because he can snap change his view with the hat switch. He would prefer the vc mode if he could pan from forward view to other views faster, and I do mean, faster. Is there anyway to accomplish this? Thanks for any help. Bob K.

You can either use Track IR which will follow your head movements or use the mouse to pan and zoom around which is what I do and it works very well. If you have an Intellimouse you can assign a key to the centre wheel button to lock and unlock panning mode. Or you could increase the panning speed if you're using the Hat switch on your joystick, but I've never done this. Hope this helps. The Frog.

Thanks Frog. We do use the Hat Switch on our joystick, but the panning speed is not as fast as we would like. Is there any way to increase the Hat Switch panning speed? Bob K.

BobThere was a solution in the "OLD" forum link http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=pri...topic_id=355867 but I don't know how to access these old posts. In the fsx.cfg there is a line called pan_rate=200, you could try changing that and if you look in cameras.cfg which is located in the same dir as fsx.cfg.Under [CameraDefinition.002]look for:PitchPanRate=30HeadingPanRate=75I think this is what changes the speed of the pan rate. I know I changed mine as soon as I got FSX, and I'm pretty sure this will work. IE. please make a back up of cameras.cfg before u change the values.(This is from: http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index...owtopic=117152)Hope this helpsPeterH

Yep he's right....you need to find the camera.cfg file (located same place as the fsx.cfg file)Go to the Virtual Cockpit definition and find those two:PitchPanRate=30HeadingPanRate=75Change them to whatever makes you happy
